I was born 13/10/1948 in Cape Town but soon moved to a farm in Namibia where I attended school
in Windhoek .
I like to paint landscapes spaces with the emphasis on colour and light . I experiment with various techniques to give unusual results .
Where I live on the peninsula south of Cape Town ; veld fires are a big problem here . I am interested in the regeneration of burnt lands and fascinated how the flora and fauna re-emerges from the ashes as new life , which brings me to other themes in my art like music,dance and love .
My styles of expression range from abstract , cubist , fauvist and surrealist influences which I combine with my own experiences and ideas in a contemporary way .
There are influences of Zen in my landscapes as well as linear spontaneity in my exotic works .
I am always open to try out new combinations of the interaction of the elements like earth , water , fire , and air , wind and rain and the play of light even at night .
